Armour Automotive introduces universal driver behaviour display

Armour Automotive

Hampshire, UK – Armour Automotive, a UK market leader in the supply of audio and video solutions for the in-vehicle entertainment and communications market, has launched a display unit for a real-time driver feedback device designed to improve the way that employees drive and contribute positively to the performance, safety and cost of a fleet operation.

Unlike most fleet management systems that use historic data to encourage “good driving”, the new driver behaviour display can warn drivers in real time, enabling them to immediately change the way they are driving. A series of traffic-light coloured LEDs are displayed to warn the driver about actions such as harsh acceleration, braking, cornering and speeding.

The solution has been designed with an open architecture basis which means it can be connected with any telematics solution through a serial port to accept various different easily programmable commands and parameters. This ensures it can provide alerts based on the precise reporting capability of any tracking unit and offers an opportunity to work closely with employees to maximise the benefits of efficient and responsible driver behaviour.

Vijay Punj, Sales & Marketing Director at Armour Automotive commented: “We are already generating interest from a number of telematics service providers, telematics box manufacturers and vehicle insurance companies. Improving the way employees drive can deliver a wide range of cost and operational benefits, as well as supporting a safe and responsible business. As a result, there is increasing demand from the marketplace for innovative tools that can contribute to improved driving behaviour and techniques”.
