Distributor brings 3G modems to Australia and New Zealand

Australian and New Zealand distributor M2M Connectivity has available Maestro Heritage 3G modems, industrial grade devices that use UMTS technology for machine-to-machine applications.

These tri-band UMTS 850, 1900 and 2100MHz HSPA modems have customisable hardware and software options for project tailoring needs.

With the use of add-on boards, they can function as an analogue input and pulse counting gateway, a GPS or Coronis Wavenis, or digital IO or Ethernet gateway.

With a Telstra approved module inside, the modems have data transfer rates of 7.2Mbit/s downlink and 2Mbit/s uplink, providing always-on internet connectivity, which is suitable for remote sites that require continual monitoring and data transfer to a central server.

In addition, the supplied Maestro Heritage Softool lets users customise the software, allowing for the choice of preferred configurations for quick integration into existing applications.

M2M Connectivity distributes wireless modules and modems for wireless M2M communications in Australia and New Zealand. It provides wireless connectivity over cellular, satellite and short-range wireless technologies to enable remote monitoring and control of applications.

The portfolio covers modules and modems for cellular (3G/HSPA, GSM/GPRS and CDMA), satellite (Orbcomm, Globalstar Simplex and Iridium), and short range industrial RF (Bluetooth, WLAN and 802.15.4 Zigbee).
