European Smart Metering Industry Group welcomes Apator as its latest member company

Brussels, Belgium, March 26, 2014 – The European Smart Metering Industry Group (ESMIG) has announced that Apator has become the thirtieth member company of the group.

Apator will be actively involved in the European Business Systems Integration & Interoperability (EBSII) working group, which focuses on the enterprise system landscape and the interoperability of its components, as well as the Communications Technology (CTG) working group, which handles all communication technology-related topics of interest to ESMIG members.

Grupa Apator is a Polish capital group, which currently includes 14 companies. Apator operates in more than 70 countries worldwide, has a strong market position in C&EE region and focuses its activity in two segments: metering systems and devices and network automation devices and systems for utilities. It employs more than 2,000 people.

Apator is a pioneer in the implementation of innovative technical solutions for smart metering and smart grids. The company offer includes metering equipment and ICT solutions for all utilities (electricity, gas, water and heat meters, data collection, MDM, DMS and asset management software).

The European Smart Metering Industry Group (ESMIG) is the European industry association that provides knowledge and expertise on smart metering and related communications at a European level. ESMIG’s members are the leading companies in the European smart metering market: meter manufacturers, IT companies, communications product and service providers, home energy management product and service providers and system integrators.

ESMIG covers all aspects of Smart Metering, including electricity, gas, water and heat measurement. Member companies cover the entire value chain from meter manufacturing, software, installation and consulting to communications and system integration. By giving support to European Union institutions, member states and standardisation organisations, the industry group aims to assist in the development of national and European-wide introduction, roll-out and management of smart metering solutions.
