Partnership aims to cut supply chain risks

A partnership between OnAsset Intelligence, a provider of M2M wireless asset tracking, sensing and control products, and Flemming Cargo Securement (FCS) is helping transportation and logistics companies reduce risk in the supply chain and intervene when cargo is compromised during transit.

FCS is providing round-the-clock monitoring services for the OnAsset tracking devices, and other services such as security evaluations, covert shadowing of cargo in high-theft areas, reverse logistics and multi-phased recovery plans in the event of a theft.

OnAsset’s Sentry technology senses the temperature, pressure, humidity, light, motion, speed, shock and vibration of any asset transported via truck, plane, rail or inter-modal freight. It is used by many of the world’s largest airlines and freight forwarders to track the whereabouts and environmental conditions of their cargo.

FCS maintains a network of 189,000 law enforcement contacts throughout North America and provides the immediate capability to dispatch these contacts in case of emergency.

“FCS is an expert at interpreting the Sentry data, and turning it into actionable intelligence,” said OnAsset’s president and CEO Adam Crossno.

“With more than 20 years of experience in the trucking industry, and a robust database of law enforcement contacts, FCS’s services provide a perfect complement to our asset tracking technology.”

The combination of OnAsset and FCS produces a turnkey system that aims to take the worries out of transporting high-value cargo across the supply chain.

“OnAsset’s technology has helped us identify and prevent dozens of heists, which have saved our clients millions of dollars this year alone,” said Ray Flemming, CEO of FCS. “Given the unprecedented rise in cargo theft on our nation’s highways, any company that ships high-value goods should consider deploying a solution like ours, to enhance their visibility, and provide the capabilities needed to stop theft in their supply chain.”
