Dublin, Ireland, June 25, 2014 – Globalstar Europe Satellite Services Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Globalstar, Inc., has announced the immediate availability of SPOT Trace™ in EMENA (Europe, Middle East and North Africa). An anti-theft asset tracking device, SPOT Trace monitors cars, motorcycles, boats and other valuable items and automatically notifies owners via email or text when movement is detected anytime, anywhere.

With SPOT Trace, users can view their valuable item’s GPS coordinates on their smartphone or online, in near real-time, using Google Maps™. The device uses Globalstar’s dependable next-generation GPS satellite network to keep tabs on valuable assets – even in areas where mobile network coverage is poor or non-existent.

Spot Trace SPOT Trace’s affordability and long battery life of up to 18 months make it ideal for tracking a wide range of valuable personal property, while its compact size (approximately 5 x 7 x 2 cm) and rugged design mean that it is durable enough to be mounted practically anywhere, and discreetly, out of sight of potential thieves.

Easy to set up and use, the device’s vibration sensor immediately triggers a movement alert to be sent to the owner, via text or email, when it detects that the asset has moved. SPOT Trace users can also set the device to track GPS coordinates at 2 ½, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minute intervals. Another key feature is the automated power-off alert, which continues to send GPS coordinates to the owner every day, helping owners to recover lost or stolen assets. There is also an in-dock mode for boats.

“SPOT Trace offers owners of boats, cars and any other valuable assets a dependable and highly affordable way to safeguard their possessions when they are somewhere else. This product is another example of Globalstar’s ongoing commitment to bringing satellite-based communications to the mass market, providing concerned owners with the theft protection they need for their valuables,” said Gavan Murphy, Director of Marketing, EMEA and LatAm, Globalstar Europe.
