Taoglas USA, Inc. a provider of antenna solutions to the M2M and IoT market, launched the Venti FXP.524 Embedded 4×4 MIMO Antenna, which is optimised to comply with the latest IEEE 802.11ac standard to deliver the fastest throughput speeds and highest bandwidth for Wi-Fi communication. The antenna solution is easy to install and integrate, and is the first to combine four high-efficiency, high-performance Wi-Fi antennas in one small, flexible, off-the-shelf solution.

Visitors to the Taoglas Booth # 6029 and 7611-B in the M2M Pavilion at CTIA’s Super Mobility Week, September 9-11, will see the Venti first hand.

The RoHS and REACH compliant FXP.524 is designed to maximise the performance and efficiency of four antennas, with excellent isolation to minimise interference, all in one small form factor antenna. It provides up to 50% efficiency at the 2.4Ghz bands, and up to 66% efficiency at 5.8GHz. It will benefit industries such as fleet transportation and mass transit that depend on Wi-Fi gateway devices with optimal speeds to enable high definition video.

Beyond its powerful capabilities, the FXP.524 is a complete, off-the-shelf solution that requires no customisation. Taoglas can also provide longer or alternate cables for the Venti antenna. At 80mm x 20mm x 1 mm, the antenna is extremely thin and has a peel-and-stick adhesive mount, making it easy to install and deploy.

“Travelers and commuters need always-on, high speed connectivity to their smartphones from the LTE routers on buses and trains and information kiosks in stations. Demand grows for smaller dimension, but higher performing 4×4 MIMO antennas in the routers that provide the backhaul link to help deliver real-time, throughput for high capacity Wi-Fi networks,” said Ronan Quinlan, director at Taoglas. “The FXP.524 Venti delivers not only on that front, but provides manufacturers with an ease of installation and integration that belies that antenna’s incredible complexity and the innovative efforts in its development by the Taoglas engineering team.
