TIA to showcase remarkable technologies being enabled by global oneM2M standard

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, has announced that it will host a special oneM2M Showcase and Workshop, in which innovative companies will demonstrate the technologies and services being built around the new global oneM2M standard.

TIA is a founding member of oneM2M, a global organisation created to develop an interoperable standard for Machine-to-Machine Communications and the Internet of Things. The group’s work will ensure that machines and applications can communicate with each other across different platforms, industries, and sectors.

With the oneM2M standard now in place, TIA is holding this special day-long event to focus attention on adoption and deployment of the standard – featuring a showcase of technologies along with keynote presentations, exhibits, and panel discussions. oneM2M strategists and technologists will discuss IoT’s transformative progress in eHealth, industrial automation, home automation, transportation, public safety and more. Companies and organisations demonstrating their deployment strategies and solutions at the Showcase include iconectiv, ILS/Telit, InterDigital, Huawei, Korean Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), Sierra Wireless and Qualcomm.

A special Programme Committee including oneM2M advisors from Alcatel-Lucent, T‑Mobile, LG and others was created to guide the development of the programme. The oneM2M MARCOM Committee is chaired by Richard Brennan of Telxxis.

The showcase will kick-off three days of keynotes, educational programming, workshops, roundtables and other special events at TIA 2015: Network of the Future Conference in Dallas, Texas on June 2-4. Much of the programme highlights the Internet of Things and deployments of solutions in Smart Cities, Smart Retail, Smart Agriculture, Digital Oilfields, Connected Cars and eHealth. A special Internet of Things Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, June 2. TIA 2015 will be held in conjunction with the AT&T Suppliers Conference.

Members of the media are invited to attend. To register, contact Farrah Kim at FarrahKim@Rational360.com or 202.568.8986.
