RealVNC and Mentor Graphics demonstrate MirrorLink solution for in-car connectivity

Mentor Graphics, and RealVNC(TM) a premier MirrorLink(TM) supplier, will demonstrate MirrorLink on industry-standard Hardware Reference Platforms, enabling coupling of consumer-electronic Smartphones and Tablets into in-car Infotainment Systems.

The demonstration is available to view during the TU-Automotive show in Detroit, USA on June 3rd and 4th, 2015.

This capability, enabled through pre-integration work between the two companies, is part of Mentor Graphics’ advanced automotive Linux platform solution, and offers Tier 1 and OEM designers greater implementation flexibility, and accelerated time to market.

RealVNC’s VNC Automotive SDK enables smartphone to vehicle connectivity leveraging the MirrorLink technology. VNC Automotive SDK is fully MirrorLink(tm)1.1 certified and 1.2 ready, offering high quality and robust implementations to Tier 1 and OEM Automotive companies.

“We are pleased to be working with Mentor Graphics to bring MirrorLink to more Tier 1’s and OEMs,” says Tom Blackie, vice president Mobile at RealVNC. “As MirrorLink specialists, our expertise helps achieve a quick time to market.”

“Smart device integration is an important requirement for today’s vehicle designers, and MirrorLink offers remote graphics support on the Infotainment Head Unit (IHU), remote user-controls, and in-vehicle audio integration. The pre-integrated RealVNC MirrorLink solution, along our overall strategy of enabling in-vehicle connectivity based on operating system integration, will provide further differentiation and advantages to our customers,” comments Andrew Patterson, embedded software marketing director at Mentor Graphics.
