U-blox TOBY-L201

Alpha Micro has announced the availability of the TOBY-L201 4G LTE high speed WCDMA wireless module from u-blox. Capable of providing 150 Mbps download speeds when using a 4G LTE connection, the module has a 3G fall-back capability and is pre-certified for use on AT&T and Verizon Networks.

Packaged in a 24.8 x 35.6 mm LGA form factor, the miniature module can operate from -40 to +85 degrees C and suits use in a very broad range of applications such as rugged mobile terminals, digital signage and mobile health appliances. With its automatic fall-back capability the module is idea for those applications where the availability of a back-up link is essential. The TOBY-L201 includes a dual IPv4/IPv6 stack, UART, USB 2.0, SDIO and GPIO interfaces, along with TCP/IP, UDP/IP, HTTP, FTP and SSL protocol support. Voice over LTE is also available.

Native Linux support is provided while RIL software for Android and Embedded Windows is available free of charge from u-blox.
