FIME enhances GlobalPlatform test portfolio to include GSMA embedded UICC products

FIME’s laboratory and global test tool is one of the first to be qualified by GlobalPlatform to verify that embedded UICC (eUICC) products meet the functional requirements outlined in the GSMA Remote Provisioning Architecture for Embedded UICC, Technical Specification.

GSMA partnered with FIME to develop the test requirements. FIME is now positioned to support mobile network operators (MNO), and chip and device manufacturers, throughout the launch of their eUICC services and solutions. GSMA selected FIME to support the development of this test specification because of its extensive experience and expertise in SIM card validation and testing. GlobalPlatform_logo.400x72dpiGlobalPlatform is the organisation which standardises the management of applications on secure chip technology and is managing the compliance activity on behalf of GSMA. This latest enhancement to the GlobalPlatform Compliance Program verifies that the interfaces for eUICCs comply with the specifications. Additionally, the broader functionality of eUICC products are confirmed, including how MNO’s will load and activate their telecom profile in a secure way. “This specification is central to M2M market growth in a sustainable and interoperable way,” adds Guillaume Lemoine, head of product and services marketing – Telecom at FIME. “The collaboration between these important industry bodies will accelerate the M2M market and increase opportunities for operators and M2M customers around the globe by reducing costs and improving flexibility and efficiency. It was a privilege to be selected to support the specification development, and we are delighted to be one of the first service providers to achieve GlobalPlatform qualification.”image002 FIME has developed a comprehensive portfolio of consulting services, test tools and testing services to support MNOs and chip and mobile device manufacturers. These services both confirm a product’s compliance to the GlobalPlatform UICC Configuration – for the mobile services sector – as well as GlobalPlatform’s Basic Financial Configuration, for the banking sector. FIME also offers a full range of services to support players in the development or selection of an eUICC solution. This includes a range of services to test and qualify remote provisioning servers.
