Embedded Linux conference and OpenIoT Summit Europe programme announced

The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organisation enabling mass innovation through open source, has announced the agenda for Embedded Linux Conference and OpenIoT Summit Europe, taking place October 11-13 in Berlin, Germany.

The two events are co-located, and one registration provides access to all sessions and activities for both events.

OpenIoT Summit Europe is for technologists and by technologists, gathering experts from the world’s leading companies and most important open source projects to present the information needed to lead successful IoT developments and bring smart connected products and solutions to market.

It will gather embedded developers, application developers, systems architects and firmware developers to learn, share and advance the technical work required for the future of IoT. This is the first time the event will take place in Europe, following a successful inaugural event in San Diego this April.

Embedded Linux Conference Europe is the premier vendor-neutral technical conference for companies and developers using Linux in embedded products. The scope of the event this year has expanded to include user-space developers – the people building applications on embedded Linux – and will be the preeminent space for product vendors and kernel and systems developers to collaborate with these influential technologists.

ELC Session highlights include:

  • Thwarting Unknown Bugs: Hardening Features in the Mainline Linux Kernel – Mark Rutland, ARM
  • Building a Boards Farm: Continuous Integration and Remote Control – Antoine Taechert, Free Electrons
  • Tool Tips: Inexpensive Essential Tools for Embedded Developers – David Anders, Intel
  • Comparison of Linux Software Update Technologies – Matt Porter, Konsulko
  • Time is Ready for the Civil Infrastructure Platform – Yoshitake Kobayashi, Toshiba & Urs Gleim, Siemens
  • Open Source, Encryption and Export Regulations & The New Compliance Frontier – Mark Gisi, Wind River Systems

OpenIoT Summit Session highlights include:

  • Our Journey Developing a Smart Biometric IoT Solution for Neonatal Nursing in Africa Based on the Zephyr Project, Diana Aung, Intel
  • Building a Drone, From Scratch – Igor Stoppa, Intel
  • Securing the Connected Car – Eystein Stenberg, Mender.io
  • Introducing Web APIs to IoT Devices – Ziran Sun, Samsung
  • The Internet of Things and Life Beyond Linux – Wolfgang Mauerer, Technical University Regensburg/Siemens AG
