Machina Research acquired by Gartner for its IoT skills

Machina Research has been acquired by Gartner, a leading information technology research and advisory company. The deal takes effect from November 9, 2016.

Over the last six years Machina Research has assembled a respected set of analysts and research focused on the Internet of Things (IoT), Jeremy Cowan reports. Machina is a privately-held company and the terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Gartner has recognised Machina Research’s ability to set the agenda in IoT market analysis, and is acquiring the firm as part of its strategy of investing further in this technology area. Both companies recognise the tremendous synergy and additional value that they can deliver as the market leaders in IoT research.

Talking to IoT Now today, Matt Hatton, co-founder of Machina Research said: “We’re very excited to be joining forces with Gartner. Machina Research’s analyst team will transition in its entirety to Gartner.
