Device Authority and GCE Group collaborate to develop an innovative health solution for GCE Group

Gareth Pemberton, director of Innovation at GCE Group

Device Authority, a global provider of policy and device-driven security for the Internet of Things (IoT), is working alongside strategic partner and systems integrator InVMA to deliver an innovative connected health solution for GCE Group.

GCE Group has designed and manufactured a portable oxygen concentrator Zen-O, which allows patients with respiratory disorders to manage their oxygen treatment better remotely. InVMA has worked closely with GCE to build a custom IoT application using PTC’s ThingWorx platform, in order to allow patients, doctors and service providers to carefully monitor data, whenever and wherever they are, dependent on the patient’s needs.

Device Authority is helping its partner InVMA to provide the critical security which GCE Group requires for their connected medical device. The Zen-O device will benefit from Device Authority’s policy-driven KeyScaler platform as patients and doctors are provided with secure access to their encrypted data, while unauthorised users will not.

“We selected InVMA and Device Authority as they have the technology expertise and capabilities to deliver a secure connected application which integrates seamlessly with PTC’s ThingWorx IoT platform” said Gareth Pemberton, director of Innovation at GCE Group. “Our customers will gain further confidence knowing the Zen-O device is secured using industry leading device-based IoT security”, he added.

“Our partnership with Device Authority has increased opportunities within growing markets, and healthcare is becoming increasingly important when security of connected devices is being built in at the design stage” said Jon Hill, director at InVMA.

Device Authority and InVMA are showcasing a live IoT security demonstration using the GCE Zen-O medical device at PTC Forum Europe in Stuttgart, Germany. Visit Booth S04 to see the secure connected health solution today.
