Coming soon at Oxford University – Data Science for IoT

Responding to the global talent drought of data scientists, Oxford University’s CPD Centre launches its new course Data Science for the Internet of Things IoT) in January 2017.

“The connected devices (The Internet of Things) generate more than 2.5 quintillion bytes of data daily. All this data will significantly impact business processes and the Data Science for IoT will take an increasingly central role,” says Ajit Jaokar, lead Tutor and Course director.

The creative use of this data is allowing companies of all types to optimise many different aspects of their operations, creating a surge of new ideas in an increasingly wide range of sectors. It has the potential to create new branches of knowledge which will have a profound impact on humanity.

This four-month, part-time course is an exploration into the unique challenges of the internet of things, providing IoT analytics, techniques and solutions for aspiring data scientists. The practical approach applies toolkits and templates to relevant industry case studies.mjkrtgm
