Yiru Zhong named principal analyst for Beecham Research

Yiru Zhong of Beecham Research

Beecham Research, the IoT analyst and consulting firm, announced the appointment of Yiru Zhong as principal analyst to broaden and strengthen the company’s program of international market research and analysis in the Internet of Things (IoT) market.

Her specific role will be to further develop the firm’s activities in IoT platforms and IoT solution development and in cyber security, areas where the firm already has a market leading position.

Zhong brings a breadth of experience with an extensive track record in IoT and M2M markets, information security and digitalisation of energy and transport mobility sectors. She was previously analyst with Frost & Sullivan for more than a decade and has advised many IT and telecommunications clients on industry convergence opportunities and delivered several cyber-security projects.

After graduation, Zhong worked as an economist in several investment banks before pursuing an MSc in Economics at the London School of Economics. She is currently studying for CompTIA Security+ certification and is fluent in Chinese.

“In welcoming Yiru to our company, this appointment further strengthens the rapid development of our response to new market needs in IoT”, explained Beecham Research founder and CEO, Robin Duke-Woolley. “The company is committed to providing ever greater levels of support for enterprise users as well as to our traditional vendor clients. The recent launch and plans for rapid sophistication of IoT Pilot are a particular example of this”.

IoT Pilot is the first fully independent online tool for matching enterprise user needs with IoT platform capabilities. This important new tool has a fast growing database of the leading IoT platforms on the market and uses a variety of novel techniques to inform adopters of the choices available to them. Among her responsibilities, Zhong will manage the further development of IoT Pilot and the company’s comprehensive service in IoT platform selection for individual enterprise users.

Zhong assumed the position as principal analyst with effect from July 3rd, replacing Saverio Romeo who was recently appointed chief research officer for Beecham Research.
