ProLabs to debut new Green transceivers at ECOC 2017

ProLabs, provider of optical network infrastructure, will be at this year’s ECOC Exhibition in Gothenburg, Sweden, where it will showcase its full portfolio of connectivity solutions, including an innovative new product line.

Launching at ECOC will be ProLabs’ line of new Green transceivers, which utilise new technologies resulting in 30% less power consumed than a typical transceiver while offering the same great performance.

The main benefit of the Green transceivers is the application of optical waveguide technology to achieve relevant efficiencies for customer applications. The initial release within the ‘Green’ line will be the QSFP28-100G-SR4 package.

Committed to developing innovative connectivity solutions, ProLabs will also be showcasing a full spectrum of products allowing customers to focus on having one provider for all optical connectivity solutions. From 100Mb to 100G, ProLabs has a portfolio of over 8,000 optical transceivers to service data rates, wavelengths and OEM vendors, and continues to develop new innovations and build upon compatibility with over 55 optical switching and transport platforms.

To complement the line of compatible transceivers, ProLabs provides a wide range of fibre patch cables, fibre multiplexing filters and DAC/AOC, including a complete line of MPO/MTP fibre patch cables with bendable fibre capabilities, compact high-density filters and complete line of DAC and AOC with custom length, breakout and multi-vendor capabilities. To meet the need for extending and monitoring networks, ProLabs also offers a complete line of Media Converters, OEO and fibre monitoring solutions.

“We supply highly compatible products, with solutions that are 100 percent compatible with more than 50 vendors and 20,000 systems. Our innovative and cutting-edge technology also comes with a lifetime warranty, demonstrating both the quality of the products as well as the company’s service,” said Ward Williams, CEO at ProLabs.

“Prolabs’ vision is to be a valued partner that can provide the breadth of optical connectivity solutions that economically migrate networks from 100Mb to 100G and beyond. We are very much looking forward to ECOC as it’s the place to meet with suppliers and align ourselves in the same space as major industry players.”
