Avago Technologies has introduced a linear power amplifier module for mobile and fixed wireless data Wimax applications that include Wifi and other cellular radios.
The MGA-22103 module has an aggressive gain shape that limits the noise injected into radio receivers co-located in the same device, enabling Wimax to coexist with Wifi, GPS, PCS and other radios in handsets, tablets, USB dongles and other portable electronics.
The linear power amplifier meets standard SEM spectral emission mask tests operating at 3.3V. Covering a frequency of 2.5 to 2.7GHz, the power amplifier includes integrated RF matching. These features are integrated in a 3 by 3 by 1mm package.
Using proprietary GaAs enhancement-mode Phemt technology, the module can be used for most high-linearity applications. It exhibits flat gain and good matching while providing linear power efficiency to meet mask conditions.
The module meets the IEEE 802.16 Wimax mask at over 25dBm power, with high gain of 35dB across the band. Additionally, a low power mode allows operation at approximately 80mA when only minimal power is required.
There are integrated cmos compatible pins for shutdown and low power mode. Operating temperature is -40 to +85°C.
