Volubill brings dynamic policy and session control to US wireless semiconductor maker’s M2M services

London, UK – Volubill, a global provider of charging and policy solutions, has announced it is supporting the advanced M2M solutions and services of a world leader in 3G and next generation wireless technologies.

With Volubill’s technology, the as-yet-unnamed developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies can reportedly give its customers the means to provide employees with internet access and usage control, regardless of their location.

Volubill’s VBS Policy Manager and VNS Core Controller allow the global semiconductor company to provide its M2M automotive, transportation and logistics customers with unprecedented connectivity, communications and managerial control that yield significant efficiency improvements and cost-savings.

For example, transportation customers are now offered the ability to provide continuous connectivity to drivers, control the amount of bandwidth they can use and the sites they are able to access. In the future this might extend to offering drivers the ability to purchase their own data plan to use for personal and non-business related functions.

“This customer win is a good example of how policy control and M2M can open up new revenue streams for service providers by enabling them to offer innovative services with significant upside for customers,” said John Aalbers (pictured), CEO of Volubill. “Globally, M2M is shaping up to be one of the key market drivers for policy control, and Volubill is at the front edge of the innovation taking place in policy application.”

Volubill provides policy management, policy enforcement and charging solutions to telecommunications service providers. With the exponential growth in the volume of mobile data traffic and increasing customer expectation, Volubill’s solutions enable operators to maximise revenues, and eliminate revenue leakage and fraud while delivering a personalised service experience. Volubill works globally, with over 80 operator customers worldwide.
