CipherCloud introduces secure SaaS workspace for enterprises

CipherCloud, a provider of cloud security, announced the availability of its new Secure SaaS Workspace solution as part of its award-winning CASB+ platform. CipherCloud’s new solution leverages contextual and behavior analytics, integrated with identity and mobile security, to secure user access to data in any enterprise cloud application, extending the enterprise security controls all the way to the cloud data on the user devices.

This solution eliminates the need to route SaaS access back through the enterprise’s infrastructure, simplifying and streamlining secure access to cloud applications. With Identity and Digital Rights Management at the core of this new offering, CipherCloud helps enterprises of all sizes to more securely and efficiently adopt cloud technology.

Today’s enterprise security architecture is fast changing with more organisations moving to use cloud applications, which let employees bring their own devices to access these applications from anywhere. Backhauling internet traffic to enterprise data centres in order to secure access to applications and data isn’t effective, and enterprises are increasingly looking for infrastructure-less solutions to extend enterprise security controls to cloud applications and devices.

CipherCloud’s extensive R&D investment delivers patented reverse proxy technology critical for this new era of connectivity, which allows enterprises to gain deep visibility into how they secure business-critical data, including the two-way traffic between cloud application access and any devices used for access. The integration of Secure SaaS Workspace into CipherCloud’s CASB+ platform takes Zero Trust to the next level of cloud and enterprise security.

Zero Trust was first introduced by Forrester Research in 2010. It turns the legacy perimeter defense model upside down by assuming that every user, both inside and outside the network, is hostile and untrusted. Zero Trust limits access to an enterprise’s data resources, and requires authentication and authorisation of each user and device on the network before access is granted. CipherCloud was the first cloud security provider to adopt Zero Trust in 2011.

According to Adam Prince, vice president of Information Security at Addiction Campuses, “We need to control the PHI and PII data across numerous devices and multiple cloud apps. CipherCloud’s CASB+ extends all of the platform-based security controls such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Digital Rights Management, malware and threat prevention, UEBA and anomaly detection, and device management to the cloud applications secured by Secure SaaS Workspace.
