Kuzzle unveils its latest IoT use case for smart construction

Kuzzle, the French publisher of an open source back-end platform for mobile communications and the Internet of Things (IoT), has unveiled a new use case on smart asset tracking projects for Omniscient. Omniscient is an offshoot of Bouygues Construction Group, a global construction company.

Jointly developed by Omniscient and Kuzzle, this IoT solution offers a dynamic and real-time vision of the construction site and its equipment. Now, the data from the connected objects provides information that was previously missing in order to improve production processes, site management and, more broadly, management control.

Currently set on two construction sites, both in France (R+8 office building) and Singapore (51-storey building), Omniscient allows teams to geotrack their equipment wherever it is located, access an inventory of all assets, measure their utilisation rate, control the proper delivery of equipment, etc. Thanks to the Kuzzle IoT back-end, Omniscient is also able to measure the number of staffs required to complete a phase, identify logistical bottlenecks or time lost moving across the building. Depending on the site configuration, vertical flows can represent up to 20% of total working time.

Indeed, the Kuzzle IoT back-end offers within a single platform a multi-protocol API toolbox, advanced functionalities, powerful tools compatible with multiple defects, multiple platforms and to meet a wide range of usage cases, while guaranteeing a level of security and total control of the platform, essential for innovative digital projects. This complete and extensible environment reduces the time to market of digital innovations by up to 40%.

From energy and utilities to healthcare and smart buildings, the Kuzzle solution has been deployed for William Reed Business Media in the United Kingdom, Biogen pharmaceuticals in the USA, the SNCF Railway company in France and more recently, the European search engine Qwant.
