GoAigua wins the 2019 Digital Water Prize from Water Europe

With its extensive experience in the digitalisation of the water industry, GoAigua has always focused its efforts on innovation and research to boost efficiency in organisations in the sector, accompanying them in their process of digital transformation and developing new solutions to improve communication between people and processes.

The Spanish company has been awarded with the Digital Water Prize by Water Europe (formerly WssTp), the technology platform for water supply and sanitation technology for Research and Technological Development in the water industry. The award recognises its innovative IoT and Big Data platform as the best Smart Water Platform of technological solutions in Europe and a major innovation for the centralised management of the integral water cycle.

In the digital water category, awards are given to those innovative solutions that respond to the real needs of the market, with the aim of valuing water resources and promoting a sustainable model for intelligent management in cities.

The prize was awarded during Water Innovation Europe 2019, Water Europe’s annual conference that has taken place in Brussels (12th-13th June) with the participation of more than 200 water and energy experts. This year’s topic was “Water Meets Energy, Energy Meets Water”.

GoAigua’s technological solutions respond to a latent problem in the water industry: data segregation. Information governance and digitalisation have been one of the main concerns of water services over time. Different solutions such as ERPs, O&M systems, GIS and CRMs have been successful in controlling some aspects of the business model, allowing for consistent and useful data analysis, ultimately leading to a better customer experience. However, managing and exploiting the data from the hydraulic processes generated in the infrastructures has always been a major challenge on which GoAigua has focused.

Companies know that information has an extremely high value and when combined with other sources, difficulties arise when considering its acquisition and massive use. Most of it resides in data silos, i.e. dispersed and isolated control systems from different manufacturers and technologies. As a result, sensorised data is not integrated into the enterprise data stream, infrastructures are managed on a vendor system basis, and the enterprise does not have a standardised and predictable way of consuming this information.

GoAigua’s Smart Water platform is designed to standardise how sensorised data is acquired, stored, managed and shared across the organisation. It seamlessly integrates information from different vendors and equipment, including IoT devices and third-party information, without changing existing software or hardware.

The WssTP Innovation Award 2019 recognises GoAigua’s commitment to digitalisation and its work in developing new innovative proposals. Its solutions provides service in all stages of the integral water cycle under a common architecture. The administration panel unifies all the key information to achieve an integrated management and provide each customer with a holistic view of the integral water cycle, setting a unique precedent in the market.
