07 February 2022 –GlobalPlatform, the standard for secure digital services and devices, has published a new protection profile for Microcontroller Units (MCUs) to help IoT component and device manufacturers to build, certify and launch secure technologies and services.

Technical standards organisation, GlobalPlatform has launched its free beta manufacturer usage description (MUD) File Service to simplify and secure IoT device network onboarding and management. The service helps manufacturers to easily share the intent, capabilities and requirements of their devices.

As the line between mobile devices and computers becomes increasingly blurred, security architectures from two previously separate worlds are also converging.
