Greenwave Systems’ new AXON Platform® for Conversational IoT is a carrier-grade smart gateway that supports a hands-free, voice-activated speaker with a customisable wake-up word and open architecture.
The solution combines the company’s AXON Platform® with integrated voice and Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, powered by natural language understanding (NLU) technology from Nuance. The offering is described as an opportunity for service providers to create conversational IoT in multiple languages in a variety of environments, including industrial, commercial and consumer segments.
The solution is part of a flexible architecture and leverages Nuance Mix to deliver voice recognition, text-to-speech, voice biometrics powered wake-up word and artificial intelligence-powered language understanding.

Meanwhile, Greenwave Systems, and Quantenna Communications, a provider of Wi-Fi® chipset solutions, announced the industry’s first carrier-grade full-duplex Wi-Fi range extender for whole-home coverage.
The extender combines Quantenna’s Wi-Fi technology with Greenwave Systems’ AXON Platform® to provide a solution for service providers looking to optimise the connected home experience. The offering features three individual RF radios designed efficiently to handle real-time applications that demand fast throughput and Quantenna’s SONiQ implementation – intelligent Self-Optimising Network (SON) software to seamlessly manage repeaters and gateways as a unified system.
